On behalf of the Board of Directors of Guns Up Volleyball Club, I am proud to announce that the recipient of the first annual Laura Davies Memorial Scholarship Fund is Macey Jordon. Macey is the daughter of Wade and Jennifer Jordon of Denver City. Macey has been a member of GUVC for four years and will graduate from Denver City High School in May. Macey was a member of the 2015 Denver City HS State Volleyball semi-final team. Her volleyball awards include: Rookie of the Year as a Sophomore; District 2-4A Offensive Player of the Year as a Junior; Denver City Offensive MVP as a Junior; and District 2-4A First Team All District as a Senior. She was also the team captain her Senior year. She had multiple awards in track and field as well. Her athletic abilities are second only to her outstanding academic achievements. She carries a 4.986 GPA and is ranked in the top 5% of her class. Macey is also very active in her community and has been the recipient of many community service awards. Macey recently signed to play volleyball at Ranger Junior College in the Fall of 2018 and plans to earn her degree in occupational therapy. Macey has been a leader on the court and we have no doubt she will be a leader in her career path. I know Laura Davies would be proud of Macey for the successes she has already achieved at such a young age. Congratulations Macey and we wish you the very best in your future endeavors!
