2023 Laura Davies Scholarship Recipient - Meagan Bray

The Guns Up Volleyball Club Board of Directors is pleased to announce the 2023 Laura Davies Memorial Scholarship recipient, Meagan Bray! Meagan will be graduating from Ropesville High School, where she excelled on and off the court in various programs including JV Track, Cheer and Basketball, Manager for Varsity Basketball, Wool Judging, Senior Quiz, Varsity Volleyball and more! Meagan was named to 2nd Team All-District her Sophomore and Junior years, and Honorable Mention her Senior year following her career-ending injury.

“I know I was destined to be a coach. I want to positively impact my future kids just as my life was impacted by my amazing coaches,” Meagan tells us. “In my last season I tore my ACL, meniscus and shattered the head of my femur,” she continues, “I knew in that moment that my playing career was over but that injury opened the door to my future. I absolutely believe God closed one door and opened the door to my future and that the pain I had to endure for so many months was for a greater purpose.

As a member of Guns Up Volleyball Club as a player, and as a coach in our Sixers program, Meagan has brought her love of the game to court! Meagan, we wish you the best in your pursuit of your degree in Education at Angelo State University. We await your arrival back on the court as a volleyball coach and in the classroom as a teacher! Congratulations!
